Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about TheatreStack, pricing, and moving your society over. Something missing? Ask us directly.

The basics

What is TheatreStack?
TheatreStack is all-in-one management software for UK amateur, community, and youth theatre societies. It brings membership, committee work, productions, rehearsals, auditions, safeguarding, communications, and ticketing insight together in one place.
Who is TheatreStack for?
Amateur theatre, community theatre, musical theatre, and youth theatre societies in the UK — from small drama groups to societies running several productions a year.
What are Stacks?
Stacks are add-on modules that plug into Core — Compliance, Backstage, Insights, Audience, Auditions, and Fundraising. You switch them on when your season needs them and off when it doesn't.

Pricing & getting started

How does pricing work?
Every society starts with Core, from £15 per month, and adds only the Stacks it needs. There is no per-member billing and no limit on past seasons. See the pricing page for plans and example configurations.
Can we try TheatreStack before paying?
Yes — new societies get a free trial with guided onboarding, so your committee can see it working with your own productions before committing.
How do we move from spreadsheets and other tools?
You can import your member list from a spreadsheet (CSV) to get started, then bring across productions and committee records at your own pace. Most societies replace five or more separate tools.

Data, members & support

How is our members' data protected?
TheatreStack is built for UK GDPR: role-based access, audit trails, encrypted sensitive data such as dates of birth and emergency contacts, and safeguarding workflows designed for societies working with children. See the security page for detail.
Do members need their own accounts?
No — you can keep a full member and cast roster without everyone creating a login. Members who want to sign in for rehearsal schedules, availability, and updates can, but it is never required to be on the books.
What support do we get?
Email support from the team that builds TheatreStack, plus guided onboarding when you join. We are UK-based and used to working around rehearsal-night schedules.
Can we leave and take our data with us?
Yes. Your data is yours — you can export it and close your society workspace at any time. The Leaving TheatreStack page explains the offboarding process.
