TheatreStack is now on iPhone

The admin happens in your pocket now

Ask anyone who's run a society what the job really involves, and very little of it happens at a desk. It happens at the bus stop, during the interval and in the car park after rehearsal, usually while someone asks, "What time are we called on Thursday?"

So we're pleased to say that the TheatreStack app is now available for iPhone, free on the App Store.

It's the same TheatreStack your society already uses, built for the moments when you're nowhere near a laptop.

For members: everything you need before you walk in

Open the app and the first thing you'll see is your next rehearsal: which show, when and where. With one tap it opens in Maps.

• Your rehearsal schedule, grouped by month, showing the calls you're in.
• Can't make it? Let the production team know from the rehearsal itself, with a short reason.
• Your away dates. When a production is collecting availability, add the dates you're away straight from your phone.
• Calendar sync. Subscribe to your rehearsals in your phone's calendar, and changes appear automatically.
• Rehearsal materials. Scripts, music and tracks, choreography and blocking notes, in one place for each show.
• The production forum, so cast and crew conversations don't get lost in a group chat.
• Your membership card, with your member number and a QR code for checking in and out.
• Society news: announcements, published committee meeting minutes and notifications that open the thing they're about.

For committees and production teams: fewer clipboards

If you run rehearsals, the app has a check-in screen for today's calls. Scan a member's QR code, or type in their membership number, to check them in when they arrive and out when they leave. You can see at a glance who's in out of everyone called.

Committee members can post a society-wide announcement from their phone. Production teams can post updates to their own show. Where your role allows, you can also look up cast and crew contact details. Those details stay hidden until you give a reason, and every reveal is recorded and visible to the member. That's the kind of care volunteers' personal data deserves.

Small things that matter

• Face ID to unlock, so you're not resetting a password in the wings.
• More than one society? Switch between them inside the app.
• Your profile and emergency contact details, a list of your signed-in devices, and a way to request removal of your data, all in the app.

Free to download, part of Core

The app is free to download. To sign in, you'll need a TheatreStack account through your society. It works with TheatreStack Core, which covers productions, member management, committee, rehearsals, the production forum, notifications and more. Core is £15 a month or £150 a year for the whole society, with no per-member charges. The app is on iPhone for now.
